So I went to the dentist he said this lump on my lower lip was probably a mucocele and that there was nothing he can do but if it doesnt go away by the end of the 3rd week see an oral surgeon so he can lance it. Now my question is:
1) Why does it sometimes get so large and other times small? It literally doubled in size over the course of 2 hours today. Does this mean that its going to pop soon by itself?
2) Are there any real effective methods (short of attempting to lance it myself which I was told not to do) to get shrink it down? Warm salt water? How often?
3) For any of you who had the surgery to have it removed, do you think I should have it micro-mursupilized over the removal of the whole thing. I hear bad stories about people that have had it removed and lost sensation in the area or there lips dont close properly and that theres a slight indentation that is able to be seen on the outside.
Any help appreciated -- this thing is so annoying, especially right now cause it grew larger.
