recently me and 5 friends went to a restaurant.
we got there and were shown to our seat. we sat and talked for a while then one of us noticed the prices in the restaurant which were much higher than usual. we decided we didnt want to pay this much so 4 of us wanted to go to another restaurant that was cheaper.

but one of my friends refused to leave becuase he said it would be REALLY bad manners for us to leave and we wouldnt be allowed in if we tried to come back another day.

we all thought this was ridiculous but APPARENLTY thats restaurant convention. but i want to know what most ppl think about this kind of situation.

we hadnt ordered any food since it was a buffet and it was not over booked or anyitnhg.

you should have left f what your friend said restaurants are to greedy for their own good it would have served them right if you had to leave

It was a buffet? I don't think that would have been rude at all. I feel that it's totally fine to leave up until you've been seated. It may be rude after that point, but if you hadn't ordered anything i don't see a big problem with it.

You are within your rights in any restaurant to look at the menu and decide to leave. If you have messed up the table, then leave a couple of dollars if you want. The restaurant management would not prohibit you from coming back, unless you did this repeatedly; but after the first time, you'd know what the prices were.
