i have these two poems i wrote a while ago, and i dont know if they're good or not...i have to turn in one of them for english, because we're doing "Flashback" or whatever...so....
#1: Letter to the Angels
Little angel in the sky,
The one who passed away;
The one I didn't know too well,
But have so much to say.
I'll always miss you, little one,
Although we never met.
We promised not to grieve for you,
But it's a promise that can't be kept.
Great-big angel in the sky,
The one who passed away;
The one I knew all too well,
And have so much to say.
I'll always miss you, great-big one,
And remember all the joy,
And all of the stories about,
"When Grandpa was a boy..."
So for all the angels watching us,
I have to bid adieu.
And when I think of being sad,
I'll think of all of you.
You are up there to watch us,
So much closer than before.
And to see all of the details
That we mortals see no more.
#2: Lies
You said "I love you"
And I believed you.
You said "I need you"
And I believed you.
You never told the truth,
Though it's been there all along.
You've sung the words over and over,
Like the chorus of some song.
You left me to sing the verses,
All alone; by myself.
But I didn't even notice,
Because you were like an elf;
Always loving and caring,
But it was all fake.
And you didn't even care
About what I had at stake.
You used me, you lied.
Are you satisfied?
I'm not, not at all.
Why'd you do it?
To see me fall?
Don't you worry, I'm okay.
I'll fix my broken heart one day.
And about these tears,
Streaming from my eyes?
They're all because of your
Stupid,
Selfish
Lies.
