I wrote this just now. A classmate of mine had committed suicide over the weekend. I didn't know him but many people in m class did.
Never knew you
Presence gone
Did you watch your last dawn?
No today, no tomorrow
A girl wails, lost in sorrow
Silent screams of horror met
By a teacher’s guilty debt
My throat constricts, I lost my breath
Oh please, please not another death
I never knew you
That much is true
And now I know I never will
Your hand had gone for the kill
Another death, another gone
Yet another child who will never see dawn

I was pondering about it all day.How he will never see tomorrow, the nice weather the flowers and plants blooming on campus. For all i know he could have had my desk in another period. The verse about the girl and the silent scream and the teacher are all describing what the class was like. One girl was extremely upset, the class frozen in horror, our teacher wracked with guilt started crying. I wrote "not another death" because, well a girl in the grade above mine (didn't know her directly but i knew who she was) died/committed suicide (it's a controversy since she was hit by a train) earlier this year, she went to my jr.high, and when the familiar name popped up on the news it was shocking. And back in 7th grade a boy in my year had died of an illness. I wondered if i could have met him if he hadn't ended his life, for all i know i would have hated him or really grown to like him, but now i will never know. And we (being in 9th grade) are all still so young, still children in the eyes of many. It's not right that people my age,so young, are being pushed so far that they just crack
