I love 'em, you should definitely get one! A mean looking, all black Buick sedan from the 80s with a turbocharged 3.8 V-6 - doesn't get much better than that! I'd recommend getting one with some aftermarket components such as a larger turbo and high performance exhaust system. They are fast from the factory, but you can get one into the 12 second range with just some moderate upgrades. It's also very impressive how they produce 360 lb ft of torque out of a 231 cubic inch engine. When they came out, GM gave the Grand National a lower horsepower rating then the Corvette to maintain the Corvette's king-like status. But numbers didn't lie, and performance tests proved that the Grand National was actually faster then the Corvette.

Love the GN. It was the fastest production car built in America in 1987. Faster than a 'Vette, and it was a squared off Buick!!!

I think the platform looks a little dated today, the design of the interior doesn't hold up well either to modern standards.

Although the turbo was relatively new technology back then it is much better today and you can probably get as much performance (power to weight)out of a modern 2.0 ltr 4cyl engine.

Still they are bad to the bone. Love that Buick GN. For the ultimate GN, look for a GN-X. And for a sleeper GN check out the Regal T-Type. It had all of the GN options but it came in colors other than black.

Fastest purebred ever. Great line's and that black color is spot on. Make sure your making your purchase from someone you've researced completely, do your homework. This a special one-off vehicle. I alway's liked the Buick line, but can't forget that Old's 442, especially the early year's '64-'65. Enjoy your new ride, it's Pimp!!

Very cool cars. Fast in stock form and really fast with some bolt on parts. Comfortable cruisers, too. They are getting up there in age, so you may have to make some repairs. They are becoming collectable and the prices are going up. Get one now before Barret-Jackson makes them worth a million bucks!
