Opinions needed: change from 8800 to N91

Looking for some personal experiences with people that have owned these 2 phones. I have been using the Nokia 8800 ever since it came out and always been using simple phones like 8890/8800/etc.

I'm looking into upgrading to a N91 and my main concern is the bulky size, since i'm used to a smaller phone.

I'm just looking for some pro's & con's on either upgrading or just sticking with my 8800..

Any inputs would be greatly apperciated.

What are your needs? That's the most important question. The N91 is a music oriented phone and it's also a smartphone, which is different from your 8800. There are many type of Nokia symbian based smartphones out there to choose from, but until you let us know what your needs are it's hard to help out. If you just need to make calls than I would keep the 8800 or upgrade to the same updated 8800 Scirocco series.

Pro's:
-Lot's of storage: 4 or 8 GB
-Smartphone capabilities: multitask, office, Web browser, installation of apps
-Wlan
-external music controls
-One of the best-sounding music phone
-Can use any headphone to listen to music due to 3.5mm audio jack

Cons
-Large
-Subpar screen (compared to rest of Nseries)

thank you for all this useful info. I agree with all the con's for the 8800/01, but the look is the only thing that is making me keep it.

If anyone has any other good things to say about the N91, please do

btw: do you guys find a hard time switching from a smaller phone to a bigger phone?

N91 build quality is the best as it is made outa steel(mostly)! It feels solid in hands, however expect it to bit heavy ~165 grams. Music quality is the best, menu is pretty fast & has got excellent battery life!!

I have only seen the phone once in person when it first came out. The only thing that scares me right me is the weight and the thickness of the phone..

The nokia N91 is definately a phone worth getting,

the phone is sturdy as it is made out of steel and feels nice in hand
it's got wifi, and 4gb music player
the phone is quite fast as well

only downside is the display, coming from an n80 to n91, the display quality is not as good

but the phone is really worth getting! and is quite affordable as well

Like tkao2025 and Blue13x have said, it depends really on what you want out of your device. With the N91 you're looking at getting a set of features you wouldn?t with the 8800, I?d say this, with all the info we see coming in at WOM World, the N91 is seen as one of the best music playing smartphones out there, it?s got the symbian platform which loads of apps are available for, it?s got superb build and has wifi which is becoming more an essential feature these days. Don?t forget the 8GB version of the N91 that?s also now out hope the WOM World might be able to help in any info you need, the Nokia website itself has a pretty neat device comparison tool as well.

I have an addiction with constantly changing my phone, however I have had the 8801 for almost 2 years now and I can't seem to part with it. I have tried switching to the N80, and have used many smart phones in the past (6682, 6670, 7610). I have also owned the Nokia 8860 and 8890 in the past and always seemed to go back to them at the time also. In fact I sold my 8890 a few times (to upgrade) and ended up buying it again (a few times) in the past.

This is what happens with me, I read about the features and think to myself, wow this phone really does a lot of cool stuff, maybe I can live with the size. So I end up buying it. Then I realize I don't even use all of those features, and I start to miss my compact, stylish, 88xx series phone. The phone has color screen, camera, mp3 ringtones and 64mb of memory, which is really all I need. Speaking of memory, that's one funny thing that always gets me... I always complain that the Nokia 8801 doesn't have expandable memory, yet honestly, I never use the full 64MB I have available.

Basically, to make a long story short, any time I switch to a bulkier S60 phone, I end up going back. I am finally changing my phone again, but the next one is going to be a black Nokia 8800 Sirocco (I want 3rd edition S40).

That's my 2 cents.

;9142185']Wow. I am exactly the same. Buy an S60, realize I don't use 90% of what its capable of, go back to 8800/8801. Then think to myself I would make use the features, sell the 8800/01, go back to the S60. Then repeat.
