with my question!!" answers? There is nothing more distracting when I'm trying to answer questions (or vote on answers) when people add links to *open* questions.
I give them the benefit of the doubt (when they don't add a comment and just throw the link there), and assume it links to a *related* answer with a marvelous best answer. Anyone else still remember those days?
It's not enough to report the annoyances, because I don't have the time or energy to do so - especially when Y!A rewards us poorly [for reporting].
Some people think they get away with it when they answer a yes/no question and then throw in the link to their question. (ex: "yes. now help me!") Don't they realize that most of us want a detailed response? (unless it's in Polls)
By looking at the community guidelines, this is what I see abused:
- Violating the question/answer format
- Exploiting the community
- Misusing answers
Here's my question: What is your opinion about people "advertising" their questions and causing others to be ignored?
