I have finally got my full license (UK) a couple of months ago. I don't have very much money at all and I don't think saving any more is going to be an option either. I have seen several bikes that I like that are within my price range and I want to know what opinions people have on them. All I'm looking for is a good work horse to take me to work and back and go on occasional ride with friends. If you have any personal experience with any of these bikes feel free to include them too.
The bikes I'm looking at are:
Honda CB1-400
Kawasaki GPZ 500 D7
Kawasaki ZZR 600 (streetfighter)
Cagiva 500 River
I really like the look of the Cagiva, but have heard they have quite a few problems, such as the starter motor which is very expensive to replace and new parts are tricky to find, is this true? Out of the four the Cagiva is in the best condition. The others have quite modest mileage for their price and none of them are in bad condition (no rust, start well, etc...). Which one do you think is best for a first big bike? Which one would you get? Which one (if any) would you stay away from? Remember guys this is the most I can afford and these are the best I've found in my price range.
