Hi guys,

is it possible to remove operator customizations in the MC60, like with m55 (removing Operator folder)?...I mean the opening and closing animations

Thanks

Yes, surely.
1. Flash the latest sw version 10
2. Apply default map
3. Use FFSInit for default dynamic memory content
Later on use Siemens Service Profiler to change customizations in the EEPROM or just access drive A: and C: and modify the system files there.

You cann connect to drive C: or B: with my tools,

After drive change ,you must to start DES or other software.

1. My phone has fw version 10
2. What is the default map?
3. I didn't find FFSinit anywhere, do you know where I could download it?

Wow! I thought it was a simpler procedure....once I find all the software I'll try....
Besides, there's something I don't understand....are there two discs in the MC60, without need to use any patch to make available further space?
And in wich one of those discs are the customizations?

- Lpapp

I downloaded your program....

well....I used DESSwitcher to browse the 3 discs, and I found the customizations in the disc C, but if I remove switchoff.sba and switchon.sba (the files that seem to be the opening and closing animations, even though I don't know the extension .sba), I see a white screen on turning on and off the phone in place of the animations....

among other things, when vklay tries to connect to the phone I get the following (I tried with all the options, mc60, patched bootcore and testpoint):
A hardware I/O error was reported while accessing COM3 - Loader: Open: No answer from GoBoot.bin

nothing...I don't know what to do to make v-klay work with my MC60...I tried to download VisSie and it works with my phone, but I can only manage the address book, messages, ringtones....it's very similar to Siemens Data Suite....but I'd like to use some patch.....

did anybody have the same issue?

Please visit that site:
gsm-multifund
and go to the update and download sections.
A default map is a file that contains the default settings in the phone's EEPROM. FFSInit is a tool that writes the default files in the phone's file system. *.sba are the MC60 default animation files but nobody has decoded their format yet.

above all thanks for the reply

In that site there isn't FFSinit. At least I didn't find that...
Do I have to use FFSinit to apply default mapping? And where should I get the dafault map?

You are welcome! I also have a MC60
But there seems to be a misunderstanding here. First you can find all the needed files on the multifund page. Guaranteed!
The *.map files are text files that define the default hexadecimal content of the phone's EEPROM. This file is applied with a mapinit program also available on the multifund page. After applying the default settings, all phone settings are reset to default i.e. operator customization is removed with one exception: some of the settings are defined in some system files in the phone's file system. That is why you need FFSInit (Flash File System Initialisation) tool. This is a program that reformats the 3 drives available in the phone and then writes the default files there. This way you can remove all the operator customization. You need to have installed SDS or only DES for it to work.

thanks for your explanation...

ok...yes...I downloaded Mapinit but I didn't find the .map files to apply with it.
Besides I can't find FFSinit on the multifund site, I browsed all the sections but...nothing...could you give me the exact link to FFSInit and the .map files? please help me!!

FFSInit reformat the 3 drives, right? I think I need to do a backup before...

uhm...wait....tell me something, does it work with the phone turned on or off?
Because V-klay and other softwares working with the phone turned off do not work with my phone.....it seems that my bootcore is not supported....

You can find all the files you need here:
http://www.allsiemens.com/flash/
FFSInit reformats all the drives (A:,B: and C: ). It works online with the phone and it also needs that DES is installed on the system.
And if you need to edit the *.sba animations use this tool:
