I currently have my xbox connected via ethernet to my laptop that is running windows 7. I've added rules in the firewall to allow the ports needed for the xbox and xbox live. Every so often it will say my NAT type is Open then after a few hours of play, it will start to lag really bad and I will continuously get a connection interrupted. I will then restart my xbox and my NAT type will state Moderate. My question is... Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and why it works but doesn't work?
I forgot to mention the router I'm using is a Motorola Surfboard SB6120 Cable Modem - DOCSIS 3.0. That is quite important info. In the router I've also set up port forwarding only problem is it won't allow me to put in my xbox's IP Address. The router is only allowing me to input an IP like: 111.111.0.1xx
