Open/Run Perl (.pl file)?

I have received a Perl (.pl file) that contains audio or an audio link in it.

I want to know how can i open/run/execute the file so that I can play the audio enclosed in this file.

Could you provide a step by step procedure for me to follow?

If it helps, I do have ActivePerl installed on my PC
Also, is there a way to convert this .pl file to an audio file like a .mp3 or .wma?
