open relationship vs swinging...?

Okay, so I've been weighing the differences, wanted to know other peoples thoughts on the subject... If you have exp with either, plz include. looking to add new spice to an old relationship.
big j--- swinging is predominately where you have relations in the same room at the same time... other couples and stuff, swapping. Open relationship is where you go out and have relations away from each other, but you know about it. its like cheating, but you are okay with it and are both doing it.
Mr not politically correct- Married because we love each other. Sex and love are 2 seperate entities. I will still be making love to my old man, but having sex with others.
my hubby just picked me up for lunch, and we had a long in-depth conversation about it all... He's going to think about an open relationship.
 
Open relationships mean you or he is able to date people "alone"....without the other present, basically put "a legal affair". I suppose it can be done, the divorce rate is high. Because, eventually one of you will find another you like better, and the other spouse gets jealous. Swinging usually involves both of you together, meeting another couple or group to participate in sex. Some people like this, divorce rate is also high. I personally do not believe these types of relationships would be good. I do have a friend, that participates in swinging. She told me at first it was fun. Then her husband developed feelings for another woman in their group. She became jealous and wanted to stop swinging. He agreed, but now he is having an affair with this woman.....all the time denying it to my friend, but she knows for certain he is. So you see once you open Pandora's Box, it does not matter "what rules you start with"....because of the nature of the game,
they always get broken somewhere along the way.
 
swinging... you both do your deeds at the same time

open.... you each do whatever you like with whoever you like whenever you like
