only home wireless SSID not shown in the "connect to network" window of vista?

i have a AMD based laptop with realtek rtl8187b wireless network adapter.when i try to connect to my home network i cannot find my router,where as my housemate is able to access internet from the same wireless router.I see all other networks SSIDs other than mine.i checked the wireless settings and SSID is enabled,ideally i should show.Plzzzz help
