Hello Fliraba - I agree totally with Mabent. I'm speaking from experience also. I was prescribed 4 Percs a day, which didn't help my pain level so I ended up taking 5 a day, then 6 a day and sometimes up to 8 a day. You body will get used to the new, higher dose and it will crave the higher amounts. The higher you go, the worse it is to get off of the drug! I'm speaking from experience on that one too.
You may want to talk to your doctor, since I can't prescribe, but taking a Tylenol when the pain starts getting bad, may help. Perc's have acetaminophen (Tylenol) already in it (325 mg/tablet), so you are taking 975 mg/day (3 x 325). One Tylenol is 500 mg. According to an acetaminophen web site, you should take no more than 1000 mg in a single dose or more than 4000 mg in a day, since it may damage your liver. It's a good thing to keep your liver healthy!! Ask you doctor if taking a single Tylenol in between doses of the Percocet might help, or when the pain becomes bad.
Try to find something that helps like directing the shower spray on your neck or taking a bath. Stay busy to try to keep your mind off of the pain (easier said than done). When I was at my most severe pain level, I was able to find one position when I was laying in bed where it decreased. That was how I dealt with it most of the time. I ended up spending 6 weeks in bed, flat on my back with my head twisted to one side - which was a position I hated, but, for me, it worked (of course with a handful of various pain pills). Try to stick to the prescribed dose and if it continues to cause you pain, talk to your doctor about it.
Let us know how you do and come back to the site when you start coming off of the Percs. You'll enjoy the help we can give you to make the journey easier for you.
