I am in desperate need of advice. My dream has always been to get involved in FilmMaking for a living. I am not American, but I decided to study there since my country has really poor education in the "Art sector". Since I couldn't afford an expensive art school I decided to attend probably one of the cheapest private Universities I found. My major is Art, not quite what I wanted but at least close enough and also to get a bachelor's degree to back me up for other jobs if I have no success in Filmmaking. I was half-way through my studies when I realize that I ran out of money. My parents had no way to support my tuition. As an international student I'm not allowed to work, and I don't get Financial Aid like other students.
So I had to quit school for one year. Just recently I found about Community Colleges and felt quite stupid not to have realized it before. I could've studied there and then transferred to University. But I have to option of attending there now. I found a program called "Video Technology", but if I go for it, it is knowing that probably I won't ever have the chance to attend University again to get a bachelor's. I'll just stay with whatever degree CC gives me. OR, on the other hand, if I attend community college in person (plus living expenses) is almost as expensive as taking online lessons from the University I was in...
from University I am missing about two years, and from Community College 2 years would be all... WHAT SHOULD I DO? What is the quality of education of community college? would that be enough? or online classes without real life interaction is better? help!!
