Hello,
I'm 19, 6'2", and losing weight. Currently still considered overweight according to BMI, but I have been working out for about a month now, so generally in good health.
About two years ago, I had a lipoma (a fatty buildup) on the top of my left foot. Was in high school then and played football. Over time it began to compress a nerve or few on my foot and hurt badly. After going to the clinic, I got an appointment to have the doctor take it out at the clinic, I think it is called outpatient surgery. He got it out, but during the process accidentally broke a small blood vessel in my foot. It sealed itself up before he was able to get the stuff to cauterize it.
A couple months after the surgery, my foot was swollen again, like when the lipoma was there, basically looks like a bump just behind the toe to the left of my big toe. This time, it wasn't hard like the lipoma, and if I raised my foot while laying down, it would 'deflate'. Went to the doctor again, this time saw a foot specialist. He numbed it and drew liquid from it. He got quite a bit of blood and the bubble of blood didn't deflate. So...got to go to the hospital and have him work on it. He sealed up the blood vessel and everything was okay for about six months. I was careful on the foot, treated it gently, hoping not to screw it up. If filled up again anyway and is the same as after the first surgery.
Now running every other day, my foot is still filled with blood as it has been for over a year. It never bothered me till I started running again. Now it hurts a little bit where the surgery was, and I really don't feel like going back to get a surgery again if the blood vessels are that fragile in my foot.
Does anyone have some advice on how to alleviate the pain a bit. It gets irritating, and I wouldn't mind trying to lighten it a bit. I also want to continue running. Would wrapping it help? Don't want to live on pain meds.
Also, if there are questions, please ask.
Thanks
