21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778), better known by the pen name Voltaire, was a French Enlightenment writer, essayist, deist and philosopher known for his wit, philosophical sport, and defense of civil liberties, including freedom of religion. He was an outspoken supporter of social reform despite strict censorship laws and harsh penalties for those who broke them. A satirical polemicist, he frequently made use of his works to criticize Catholic Church dogma and the French institutions of his day

John Locke (August 29, 1632 – October 28, 1704) was an English philosopher. Locke is considered the first of the British Empiricists, but is equally important to social contract theory. His ideas had enormous influence on the development of epistemology and political philosophy, and he is widely regarded as one of the most influential Enlightenment thinkers and contributors to liberal theory.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau, (June 28, 1712 – July 2, 1778) was a philosopher, literary figure, and composer of the Enlightenment whose political philosophy influenced the French Revolution, the development of both liberal and socialist theory, and the growth of nationalism.

Immanuel Kant IPA: [I:manuəl kant] (22 April 1724 – 12 February 1804) was an 18th-century German philosopher from the Prussian city of Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia). He is regarded as one of the most influential thinkers of modern Europe and of the late Enlightenment.

The only 3 men I know who made an impression was magi (the 3 wise men) they were enlightened but as for the different countries, you'd have to look back through history, and neither of the two you mentioned mean anything to me, what about einsteine and bell, they are pretty awesome type guys!

Although Locke and Hobbes are important thinkers, I wouldn't really class them as 'Enlightenment' figures. Hobbes, for example, wrote in the seventeenth century, about a hundred years before the Enlightenment.

The Enlightenment was a movement towards intellectual enquiry and rational debate which opposed itself to the old-fashioned dogmatism of the Catholic church. It is particularly associated with French thinkers such as Diderot, Voltaire and Rousseau. I would follow up these thinkers if you're interested in Englightenment ideas.
