One week ago I asked "What do you like to eat when you go camping?"?

And my question was deleted as a violation of the community guidelines. Can anyone tell me exactly what this violates?

People report for no reason. I call it targeting. They have multiple ID's and use them to report to get someone they don't particularly like suspended. They follow you around and report every answer no matter what. They give it the old standby, not a question or an answer. Happens to me all the time, especially over in Politics.

someone probably thought it was chat. And unless you were asking for suggestions it was. but not chatty enough to be deleted imo.

It doesn't violate anything! It's so unfair!
And even if you appeal, you won't get that question back.

It's the word "you," it's considered chatting. Try "What foods are good to take on a camping trip?"

It is chat. You are asking for personal information from the other users that only you and the answerer will care about. It is more of a format issue. You should have asked something like, "What are good tasty foods that can easily be taken on a camping trip?" Now you are asking for factual knowledge, not just personal preferences. You get the same answerers, but you will also get some like, "hot dogs, but not my favorites" or "burgers, but hot dogs are easier" or "Here is a link for a poll that was done with the recipes". You expand the knowledge base when you ask the non-personal version. When you only ask personal opinion like you would do in normal "chatting", it will lead to violations. Reread the guidelines (link at bottom of every page) and the reference.

It was probably considered chatting.

Don't worry, I recently had 15 violations in 3 days for 'chatting'. And I was asking questions like 'Can you tie a tie'?

Silly isn't it?

I hope this helps :)

Nothing! They did this to me once, and it so happens that it was there mistake! I'm sure they just made another mistake!

Some of my answers get deleted, although they have nothing illegal or insulting in them...

Some people just like to be idiots and report things for no reason
