One thing you want to see brought back in a game

i'm bored as fuck...and for some reason i started thinking about NBA Jam...and i was thinking of how much i missed that feeling of euphoria whenever i successfully shattered the glass....but alas the glass shattering is gone

name one thing you'd bring back in an old school game
 
I'd like to see a classic 2D side-scroller with some crazy detailed, interactive backgrounds.

I love games like EarthWorm Jim, Flashback, Out Of This World and Afraid Of The Dark.
 
Playing Zelda on the Wii brings me back to being a kid playing games like that were I wish I could make the moves myself.

You feel like a badass when you off 5 on-screen baddies with the bow freehanding it.
 
I'd like to see more console RPGs with deep storylines, creative characters, and unique features with the weapons/armor/battles/etc. I miss the creative turn based console RPGs from the past

I'd also like to see Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana make an appearance on the Wii's Virtual Console, since I was foolish enough at one point to let a "friend" borrow my original copies. He moved to a different state while he still had them, and ended up selling them on eBay I refuse to pay $50+ for cartridge versions of these two titles
 
It's a shame developers think having 3d graphics means the world itself has to be 3d. I'd love to see some new sidescrollers, even on next-gen consoles. Whether they use sprites or 3d, I don't really care.

A game that comes to mind, but isn't really a sidescroller, is Worms. The 2d versions were far better than the 3d ones, which have pretty much killed off the series for the time being. If they released a new 2d version, surely people would buy it. AFAIK, they're doing so for XBLA. Good choice on their part.
 
thought of these two last night

bunny hopping in CT...and that little glitch that allowed you to throw a smoke grenade next to a team mate and they would become stuck for the duration of the smoke
