One month working out in the gym will there be results?

Hi, I've been working out for a while now and I'm just asking if there should be results working out for a month? Because I just measured myself awhile ago and there seems to be no change what so ever. It looked like i didn't gain anything, some trainers there said there should be results after 1 month workout even 1 cm. Does that mean I've been sweating myself for nothing for a month or maybe I should wait 2months or more before I see results. I'm just a casual working out person not doing anything extreme or hardcore. I do 30 minute cardio with 9 intensity then I workout 1 muscle group then I do legs and finally I cool down jogging for 10 minutes. Right now I'm implementing core workouts(abs) before working out. I'm just being paranoid right now I feel like an idiot hehe

BTW i was super thin a year ago and I gained 15 pounds now I'm having trouble gaining more muscle.
