Once you open up Yahoo Messenger, you need to enter any e-mail addresses that you have been given by people by adding them to your contact list - point with your mouse to 'contacts' which you will see at the very top of the window. Left click, and then on the drop-down window, click on 'add a contact', then in the pop up window enter your contact's e-mail address. An invitation will be sent to them to accept you as a contact. When you have several in your list, you can easily recognise if they are on line, as the colour will be different from those who are off-line. Right click on an on-line person and select 'Instant Message - and you are in business! Best of luck!
