On Verizon Access Manager, it says my air card is not inserted?

I got the Verizon Access Manager downloaded into our new home computer. I open it up and click on "Detect Device." I then put the air card into a USB port. The error message pops up saying, "A wireless device was not detected!" when it is already in there. What should I do to fix this?
