and ran for a few days and quit.? checked fuses, lines but still not getting gas, fuel pump not coming on, but i was wondering if it could be something besides fuel pump?

You need to replace the fuel pump and fuel filter. When you run a vehicle out of fuel (especially an older one) all the debris that sits on the bottom of the tank gets sucked into the filter and clogs it. More importantly, fuel is used to lubricate the fuel pump. When you run out it can cause it to malfunction.

could be the fuel pump relay. You have a box under your hood with relays and fuses. You can get a new relay for about $10. It can be simply pulled out and replaced just like you would with a fuse. If this don't do it I'd lay money on the fuel pump.
