On my mt bike, is it the shock reducer that's making my rear supension clunky?

I removed and remounted the 5th element rear shock on my santa cruz heckler. Now there is play evident at the rear mounting bolt of the shock. The reducer that goes through the rear eyelet bushing has play with the axle bolt. It's clunking just a bit and makes the whole ride feel and sound like junk. Anybody had the same experience, and was able to repair it?
Thanks!! Joe

It sounds to me like you need to purchase and install a pivot rebuild kit. They are readily available.
