gasket failures. ? I have a Buick century v-6 and has 77000 miles on it. I assumed the Dex Cool was ok for 5 years 100,000 miles. Now I hear there are engine gasket failures due to the Dex Cool. I just serviced it and changed over to the regular antifreeze. Have I waited too long? It is not running hot or leaking. I wish I had changed it sooner, I would hate to have to pay for the repairs. Any info anyone?

There was a class action lawsuit regarding 3.1/3.4L V6 engine gasket failures that was settled with Dex being assigned blame.

I have my doubts.

Personally I think it was just a lousy gasket design as Dex does not cause similar problems in other engines and when you use the newer design composite metal/plastic replacement gaskets they seem to work just fine. If yours isn't leaking yet that is good news. Just follow your regular maintenance schedule.
