On Lost, how come Sawyer flashed back to 74 but Kate & Jack flashed back to 77?

I remember the final time flash was when Ajira airlines crashed, that's when someone from Sawyer's group said it felt like an earthquake. Sawyer & co. travelled to 74 but Kate & co. travelled to 77. And if you want to say that time travel is uneven, how can Sawyer have experienced 3 years of events (with the Dharma group) before meeting Kate who had no time lapse since the plane crashed?

Kate, Jack, Hurley, all the oceanic 6 had a 3-year lapse after leaving the island.

Sawyer, Miles, Juliet, they were stuck on the island when it started hopping through time. They got stuck in 1974 when Locke pushed the wheel and the island stopped hopping. Then they had a 3-year lapse before Jack, Kate, everyone came back.

.. It seems impossible, but both groups had the exact same amount of time between seeing eachother. (The odds of that happening are really unlikely, so they were just lucky.)

you've answered your own question. when sawyer,miles,miles, and then jin had the last time shift they all ended up in '74 and spent 3 yrs there and when the crash that brought kate,,jack,sayeed, and hugo landed it was indeed also 3 yrs later coinciding with '777 but it brought jack and company some tirty years into the past as well. and now sun and frank will be traveling to the same year with the help of christian. yes it's confusing but it's LOST.

The last flash was when Locke turned the wheel.
Kate and Jack were in current times for 3 years, the same as Sawyer was at Dharma. They discussed this when they first met in the clearing, that each had 3 years elapsed.

Im not sure their is an exact reason why they change to different times but im sure it will be said some time....at least i hope so
