On Limewire how do i transfer files from the library folder to the public shared folder?

i am trying to save music files from the limewire library, which i have imported externally via a usb stick, on to the shared area as i want to tranfer them onto itunes. could someone tell me how i could do this because when i transferred the files from my limewire library straight onto itunes, it says' the original file could not be found ', so it wont allow me to put the songs onto my ipod. thanks
and ive tried......right click the song >Add to list>Public Shared... but it doesnt seem to transfer the songs onto the shared arae
