I'm planning on applying to the IBEW apprenticeship program (in Baltimore or Lanham, MD) a friend of my father's (IBEW electrician) told me to call up the local office and to ask them about what I need to apply. He also gave me the name of an electrician/business owner in my area that might be able to help me out.
So would I contact the IBEW and apply and then contact the guy recommended to me. Or talk to this guy first and if all goes well apply to the program and let them know he'd sponsor me or whatever? I'm just not sure how the process works and I don't want to keep bugging the guy I already called and come off sounding stupid.
