On death in a war location, what are the pensions for wives/husbands/famlies of non

commissioned ranks? The British armed forces are the forces of the monarch not the country! Is the Elizabeth medal enough or would the recipients find larger pensions more in order? Why was it not just called 'The Queen's Medal for ....'?
 
As an ex serviceman. I can already see the blunt "mess/barrack" humour concerning the "Elizabeth medal"

In my opinion, pay soldiers more and MP's nothing.
