I am having a Lapascoptomy (SP) where they go into my belly button and see if I have lea sons, clots.

I know they put gas into you so they can see with the scope, but a girl just told me she had a terrible experience with it.

She said she was bloated for almost three months..........OMG, and another girl said it she was only bloated from the gas for about 3-5 days.

Please advise for those of you who have had one...........please, soon.

It will depend on how much gas is needed to allow the surgeon see what he needs to see and how fast your body will absorb the gas afterward. Everyone is different.

Remember, they remove as much gas as possible before leaving the abdomen. It is the residual gas you will be left with, not the whole works.

If you have digestion problems, taking Citrucel fiber will help elevate bloating.

Coping with gas after surgery is better than to continue having pain for other reasons.

If someone was bloated for 3 months, I suspect it had more to do with digestion disruption (it happens after a shock to the system like surgery) rather than the gas. And it probably could have been addressed easily by changing diet a little.

Good luck!
