Omega 3 fatty aciRAB, high in EPA and DHA is extremely helpful in clearing acne. It has to be high in those two factors and you should take a therapeutic dose. This is typically 2-3 times higher than the recommended dosage. The best types are from as pure a source as you can find. Generally this is from Scandinavian countries such as Norway. This was practically miraculous for my son and several other frienRAB I know who have battled acne, trying multitudes of preparations and treatments.
I know it sounRAB strange to reach for something that says fatty aciRAB, but you need the Omega 3 to battle and balance out the enormous amount of Omega 6 that is in the American diet.
Best wishes to all of us battling skin problems.

where did you get it? how much did it cost? and is it safe to take that much on a daily basis?

for my niece nothing helped her acne because it was hormonal. the omega made her oilier too. she tried accutane and it cleared the oil and cysts but after a month then pimples returned.we found out that she needed a bc and spiro. it has been a miracle for her due to the fact that she is hormonally vunerable. hope this may help someone that has had no luck with anything.

My son had great success with the Omega 3, perhaps it is not as effective for a female hormonal issue. I have had several people, including an acupuncturist and a holistic doctor tell me that if one hormone is out of balance, there is a good chance the others may be out of balance as well.
I don't know what a bc and a spiro are. I am happy to hear your niece found her answer. Acne is such a tough issue, hitting people when they are just trying to figure out who they are and what they want to do in life. Acne is never in the hopes and dreams!! Thanks for posting. There is always something to learn.

I get the type we use from our local health food store. I have seen it also in Whole FooRAB. They probably also have it at GNC. It depenRAB on your own budget of course. I think it is expensive. The person who told me about it said to buy the highest amount of EPA and DHA you can get for the money, also paying attention to the purer types. We use "Nordic Naturals" It comes with different flavors, like orange and peach. It comes in capsules too, but it is a bit cheaper as a liquid, you just have to get over the psychological hurdle of taking oil. It is also a bit messier too of course. I think it runs about twenty dollars for an eight ounce bottle. You should keep it in the refrigerator also.
I couldn't begin to advise you on a long, long term basis. However, I think if you can see some improvement keep it up. Once you have cleared up, taper off until you see the results you want. Two people I know have been taking it long term for a long time. One is a man in his forties who swears by it and says he takes a tablespoon twice a day and has taken it regularly for over a year and a half. It cleared his skin, helped with energy and even mood. He told my son and I he could take a tablespoon three times a day. My son took it twice a day for about three days and his skin cleared rapidly. He now takes one tablespoon a day, maybe three times a week. His skin still looks good. He had acne on his face, some on his back and some on his chest. Everything has cleared. He is eighteen years old.
Best wishes to you. I hope it helps. Give it some time.:)
