Older movie. Lions that talk -real like... female lion wanders off...?

and meets the "outsider male lion" as a cub, he cares for her or what ever and ends up being her mate when she runs away and meets him as an adult lion (crosses a river)... the "outsider lion" has a friend/brother who kills one of her cubs and she tries to go home in the end...

anyone know the name of this movie? I dont think it was a cartoon....
