It's really foggy, because I haven't seen it since I was a kid. But there was a movie with a young street kid (leather jacket, Jersey accent, earring) in it. And I remember that he when he was killed, his friends found his bloody basketball somewhere....
And I don't know if this is from the same movie or I'm melding two together, but I remember a scene where someone crashes through an old building (I think a school) with some kind of heavy-duty vehicle. This is bugging me to know end. Does anybody know what I might be thinking of?
