old book about a boy who falls down well?

there's this childrens book i read when i was a kid. i remember it was about these two little brothers, (chinese maybe?) and the first born falls down the well and i think the other boy saves him. the kid has a really really long name, something that rhymes. i know this isn't much to go on but any ideas?
