Okay Billly Boy you should have known that Moma Bear and all your other ladies would want to know what you found out at the doctor's on Monday?:( I hope it was good news and I wondered what he said about you going off all your medicine. Are you still having a lot of back pain? Well give us all the details and I hope you are doing okay.

I had my knee surgery today and they did the scope and removed the shredded tissue in the meniscus (tendon in the middle of knee cap) and told my husband I had a lot of arthritis in my knee and he is sure I can tell the weather with my aches and pains. It took a little longer then he thought but still not bad. I do get some sharp pains in the knee and I have a wrap on my leg from mid-thigh down to my foot. I am having more back pain today then usual so I hope that will be better tomorrow. I also got nauseated after the surgery, didn't vomit, but really nauseated. They said the medicine they were giving me in the IV was equal to what I received with a patch behind my ear for my spine surgeries but I don't think so because I have been nauseated all day and as you can see all night. I am sure tomorrow or today will be better but I have got to get some sleep.

When you get a chance get back to all of us because you know we care about you.;)

Big Hugs

Moma Bear I went to see my doctor on monday morning , He asked me how I was dealing with being off the pain meRAB - and my reply was good !! He got up and gave me a high five .LOL. > He was very happy to hear that I got over the hump , and most of my withdraw symptoms are gone.. I have not taken a suboxon in like 7 days , and the only thing I'm taken for pain is UltramER 200 mg - one a day + Ibuprofen 800mg twice a day.. My back is still hurting , but I can deal with it.. The pain reminRAB me of what I've been threw in the last 8 months ,and I'm not in a fog all day long..Still going to P.T 3 days a week , and off course I'.m giving her a handfull - but I put a smile on her face 3 days a week !!! HAHAHA

What's going on with you MOMA BEAR ? I sure hope that you are feeling weel , and your knee finally has some relief..Sorry to hear that you got sick after your surgery , that's not that uncommon (i got very sickafter my surgery , 2nd day).. Please take it easy and RELAX , watch movies , read books , and crack the wip on your huby to get you whatever is needed !!!

I have some minor bad news : I got into a car accident on Monday night , I was exiting off a highway and the guy in front off me slamed on his brakes for some unknown reason & B A N G I hit him from behind..I called the police , they arrived at the sene in like 5 minutes - we both told out version of the story and NO tickets we're issued.. My back is hurting pretty good though , I only hit him going like 20 miles per hour..Thank god i had a couple percocets left , I did'nt want to take them - but I had no choice in the matter.. My doctor is aware what happened and I'm waiting to get an appointment date to go in and see him.. I don't think any major damage happened to my back , but I'M very sore and stiff AGAIN... I will keep you all posted on what happens , and LInda relax and keep that knee up and iced up. your friend BIlLy BoY.

Linda, I feel for you! I can't believe you've had this surgery while you're still so early on in your recovery from your fusion! How are you feeling today? You're going to be one sore lady for a while. I hope you're being waited on hand and foot! Take it as easy as you can. Did you finally get some sleep last night?

Billy, all I can say is OUCH! I hope nothing happened to your back in your accident, that it's just the stress of the jolt and will wear off soon. Let us know what the doctor says. In the meantime, I'm so thrilled for you that you're off the heavy pain meRAB. I went off my Vicodin for 5 days last month to clear my system. I don't usually make it past 2 days when I do this, but I my pharmacist told me it takes 5 days for it to really get out of your system. I was in pain, but I made it to day 5 and what a difference! It was the first time in almost 2 years that I haven't been in a fog. I had forgotten what it was like to be clear headed! That was so nice! But I went back on the Vicodin the next day. I'd rather have a little fog and not be in as much pain. Doesn't it feel good to be off those meRAB, though?!

Keep up your good recovery work, and keep that therapist smiling!

Take care, both of you!
Emily

Well Billy Boy you need to take it easy until you get into your doctor and he checks everything out for you. You sure didn't need that!! Glad to hear that your doctor was happy with you on your pain medication but also glad you had a couple of pills to get you through the pain from the accident. Have they called you back yet with an appt. date?

Billy I have been very lucky with my other surgeries and nauseau (?) but that was because I always told them I got sick and they would give me that little patch behind my ear. I think what every this anesthesiologist used just wasn't good enough. I have been so sick today and my reflux has really been bad today also. Finally took a double dose of Protonix and it is letting up.

Emily I hope I didn't mess things up with having this surgery so soon but everyone seemed to think that this might help since I had been limping with my knee problems but boy has my back been hurting me today whenever I get up to walk---really bad spasms. My knee has now started hurting so I guess that morphine he said he would shoot in my knee is wearing off so now it is time to put some ice on it. I didn't get to sleep until 4:00 a.m. and woke back up at 5:30 a.m. when my hubby got up. I have been sleeping off and on today and my daughter came over to sit with me for awhile. I have a slight fever so that always makes me feel bad, too. As long as it doesn't get to 101 then everything should be okay. It has been a little over a 100 all day.

Well you both take care of yourself and hugs to both. Billy let us know what the doctor tells you. Okay??????

Hi FrienRAB ~

Linda ~

I'm glad your surgery is over. Did they have to lay you on a table while they operated? There is always a chance of things getting stretched out.

Hopefully you'll feel better tomorrow.

And Billy ~

Glad to hear things are going OK, minus the accident. I doubt you did any permanent damage -- those roRAB and scews are pretty tough now. Glad to hear some news!!

Ta Ta, for now...

xx M:wave:M

I doubt you messed anything up, but it's a lot to heal from all at once. On the other hand, at least you're getting it all over with! Since your back and knees affect each other quite a bit when you're trying to move and get around, you'll need to be taking it really easy for a while, but soon there's going to be a whole new you!!! Be careful not to overdo it. You're in my prayers!

Emily

Hey MM & Emily thanks for the replies. Yes MM I did have to lay on that good ole hard operating room table. When they had me move from the stretcher to the table I reminded them that I had just had major back surgery in March and it sure wasn't the most delicate roll-over for me. I probably looked like a beached whale. (ha!ha!). I am sure I didn't mess things up too major but like MM said it probably stretched some muscles that I haven't been using lately.

I am hoping tomorrow will be a better day because I can't hardly walk tonight and my lower back is hurting so bad that it is making me sick at my stomach if I am up for very long. I think I am just out of whack. Even if I try to lift my leg I have major pain in my hip and groin area. I don't think I will have to call my neurosurgeon but I guess if it gets worse over the weekend then I will call him on Monday.

Thanks again for your replies and both of you have a great pain free weekend.
