Ok when we gaze into the night sky we see stars like they were in the past , right? So my question is:?

If Keppler is finding all these "earth-like" planets out there , isn't the rotation and orbit of the so-called planets INCONCLUSIVE? since it is already stated that what we are seeing in deep space happened many years ago. So if a planet seems to orbit it's star in 6 days and the star is about 45 light years away, are we seeing this planet "wobble" or rotate the way it did 45 years and 6 days ago?? How can scientists be so sure that it is orbiting a hot star in 6 days?
