Ok went to the doc and need some feed back

I went to the ER about a week ago because well my acidness was making me insane, the feeling of excess saliva was so annoying and the bloating. So the doc took blood samples to check how my organs were working and also did a stomach x-ray to rule out an ulcer. The results came back fine and he said i have acute gastritis and sent me portonix for a month. I have been taking it it has worked but the symptoms come and go. For expample yesturday I ate a lil too much and well today i woke up with the same symptoms as before, I want to know wat else can i do rather than medication to make it better please helppppppppp:dizzy:
 
The only other thing is to REALLY REALLY watch your diet. That means, don't over eat, don't eat acidic things (like tomatoes) and watch for anything else that bothers you. The 3 main things I was told to avoid are chocolate caffeine and alcohol.
 
I agree on the importance of watching your diet. The list my GI doc gave me to avoid included: fatty, greasy or fried fooRAB, spicy fooRAB (onions, peppers, tomato based products), caffeine drinks, citrus food and drinks, chocolate, alcohol and nicotine.
