ok so my left 4 dead lets me connect with my friends xbox 360 but it only loads my game?

k so my left 4 dead lets me connect with my friends xbox 360 but it only loads my game??? It loads my game first then loads my friends second and then it doesnt even load all the way and kicks him out... Whats going on? (were system linking) could it be the cable? Plz help!!!!!!!!!
