Ok so i might get an xbox 360 and i was wondering if my wireless adapter would go

all the way from my upstairs to the downstairs part of the house or will there be no connection whatsoever?
to the downstairs part of my house and would it go through the floor i dont have a laptop sp plz dont suggest that i was thinkin about gettin an xbox wireless adapter would it work?
