Ok my ipod nano 4gb(the kinda square one) is acting really weird...?

Ok when i try to turn it on it says connect to power supply and I do and I wait and then I try to turn it on but it gives the same message and it does not appear to be recharging and the icon for the ipod does not appear on the itunes list. Is there a way I can restart it or something?
 
u can restart it by holding the top button and the center button down and then the apple logo will appear
or just try to connect it to the charging source and leave it there for a while
if nothing works call apple or customer service
