Ok, my 860 just got stolen, HELP, ASAP

Well i was at the field house (my school gym building) and i had my **** in my locker, and i usually have it in my coat pocket, but i guess it was in the locker... and someone took it, point is, someone took it, its stolen, i got the service turned off, so thats all taken care of, i got insurense on it, but how much will it coast to get a new one? and is there anyway i can get the i870 if i add some money on the insurence? or would i have to pay the full price, say if i gotta pay 100 for a new i860, would i still have to pay 350 or 300 w/e it is for a i870, would they even know what type of phone i had????



Help please, im prolly gonna go try 2 get a new one 2day...

Well depending on which service you have, seeing that you have a i860 I think it is Nextel, you will need to pay the deductible. You can talk to them and see if they can give you a i870 but I'm not sure if they will or not. I'm pretty sure they know which phone you have, because they have the IMEI in their system when you activated it.
 
yea im pretty sure they do, i got all of it delt with right now.. gotta pay 100, gunna see if my home inserance will cover the deductible, hopefully.. but if not its fine, wish i could get da 870 tho:(
 
I have never had a phone stolen from me so i have a question. What happens to the thief? Does he get away wid a free phone or is it traceable with the GPS? Can someone just put their Nextel SIM in the stolen phone and get away with it?
 
Yea, thats the bad thing about phones that require a sim card because they can't lock the phone only the sim card. So all the person needs to do is stick another sim card in the phone and it will work. The only thing you can do is suspend the service so that they can't run up your minutes.
 
yea it does suck... but one more question, like i had alot of contact on that sim card, is there ANY WAY, i can get them back when i get my new phone, i should get it within 3days, soooo pretty soon, but i was wondering if there is anyway i can get all my old contact... or will i have to put all them in there again?
 
Nope, your gonna have to enter them in one by one all over again, which really sucks. Thats what I hate about Sprint, everytime you get a new phone you have to re-enter your contacts.
 
go to a place in the mall or something and ask them to make you another copy of the sim card. thats what i have and if my phone ever gets stolen or lost, i still have my contacts on the back up sim
 
Yea, you out of luck on the contacts. The best place to look for a new I870 is on eBay, I've had real good experiences with the phones I've bought there.
