I'm currently in waiting to join the Navy myself, and so far I have taken a 3 tests. Once before my physical (urine), once during physical (blood and urine) and then a third time after (urine). In addition you take one again before you ship off to boot.

You will be drug tested before you go to MEPS
You will be drug tested at MEPS and if you used any drug within 45 days you will fail it.
Then you get drug tested before you ship to boot camp.

And...you are subject to being tested at any point thereafter as long as you are in. Sounds like you are worried, so maybe you should not join at all. No more pot heads are needed in the military.
You do not understand.....the idea behind drug testing is to catch people using drugs and punish them / eliminate them from the service
If they announce when they test and make a schedule.... the people taking drugs will avoid detection.... DUH
You can count on them making a "surprise" drug check early on and periodically through out your service.....
How do you keep from being discovered as a druggie?
Simple.....STOP using drugs and hanging out with people who do.... other wise you are going to have a short and painful military experience
