ok i really need help i have a 99 ford escort zx2 2.0?

i just replaced the timing belt on it got it all put back together it sat for about a month an a half now it idles to low and its hard to put it in gear and when i drove it and took my foot off the gas it slowed very fast

The drive belt is to tight, or you didn't quite get the timing marks right, but ima say u have the belt to tight.
