C cycle guy Guest Nov 5, 2008 #2 Just by the feel of the ride, I'd say 12-14 mph is the most efficient. I like about 17mph myself. It's fairly fast and I can do that all day and all night. Note that I believe most cars are most efficient at about 35 not 55 mph.
