discussed after interview? I had an interview last monday and I was the first candidate. I met the interviewer originally in April and he reached out to me in June because he is now in a position to hire. The interview this time was very conversational about what he is doing and I made sure to make smart comments. It was not traditional Q&A.

I feel it was harder to "pitch" myself though I sent a thank you to highlight points same eve and he responded that it was very nice to see me again. He will finish meeting people this week, so i know i have to wait. I read an article which spoke about what he is interested in for the group. Is it too eager for me to follow-up with him with a piece or some work I did in this area (early this week)?
 
Yes, that is a good idea.
Attach a note, saying you found the article very interesting in view of your recent meeting with him.
