OK a girl asked me a riddle and i cant figure it out for the life of me?

Here it is the riddle goes a rock fell and then a man died . the rock didn't make any physical contact with the man though. That's all the riddle says anyone have an answer for me Because i cant think of it for the life of me .
 
a rock fell and a man died. doesnt mean the man died from a rock falling on him. lol ok whats the answer!?
