Gonna get my oil changed and I wanna know the type of oil I need. It's a toyota Rav4, 1998. a little over 200+(yea I know, chnage will be coming soon). should I go 5W30 full synthetic or 10W30 or something else?

i like the idea of 10 w less chance of leak than 5 w...get castrol [ or other major label] high mileage oil.... i use semi synthetic castrol 10 w 40....

If you are in a hotter climet with that many miles you might want to use 15-40. I know all the motor heads out there are screeming at me right now but it works. If your in a colder area say below 50f a 10-30 with Lucus oil should do the trick.

over 200,000 go with a heavier weight oil like 10w30 i run 10w40 in al my cars but either way synthetic is the best you can do for it

actually, I personally mix antifreeze with the engine oil so that the engine runs better. All u have to do is dilute the antifreeze then 50/50 should be the consistency of the oil mixed with anti freeze. Just for extra cleeaning power, I add two teasponns of vionegar in to the whole mix. Makes for a great car.
