Oil pressure ?

just picked up my first harley Tue. Its a 06 ultra classic with the 103 upgrade. After the engine is hot the oil pressure reads about 10 when idleing and 32 running at speed. Called the dealer and the service writer said it should be ok but he didnt sound convincing. Is 10 psi ok when hot idleing on these bikes? thanks,Ron

Harleys oil themselves more so by volume not pressure. The idiot lights are set to go on at 2 to 3 PSI. You're fine. Ride on!

i noticed the same thing today...i also had a spot of oil on the ground tho. if the oil was not on the ground??? i would have never noticed the gauge

I noticed the same thing when i got on my ultra for my first trip (Came from a Fat Boy) I was freaking out. I dont even think it reads 5psi but the idiot light hasnt come on so i guess were doing ok.

Thanks guys. I guess its just when I see a a pressure gauge, I want to see some pressure on it.

If you lose oil pressure you will know it...The lifters will clatter like crazy.

When the temperature gets to around 105 degrees the oil is very thin. I've always wondered if my '09 would do better with a higher pressure oil pump. The 10 psi factory spec's seem to be low at idle but the factory knows better than I do.

when the bike is hot oil pr. is 32 running and at idle 10 with syn oil.
dino oil 28 @ run and maybe 10 @ idle
