oil pan gasket on a 83 ford f150 6 cyl?

I'm replacing theoilpan gasket in a 6 cyl 4.9 its on a 83 ford f150. do i have to take the motor out or can i just lift it far enough to remove the pan. If theirs any other steps that i need to take they would be appreciated greatly.
 
Just lift the engine far enough up to get to the bolts on the pan but make sure when you replace the gasket on the engine use alot of gasket sealer between the engine and oil pan after all surfaces have been cleaned on the engine block and oil pan.
 
I have replaced the oil pan gasket on my ford truck but it was 302 . i had to take the engine mount bolts out lift the engine to get the clearance needed to get the oil pan off , it is not the easiest task . a bit more time consuming because you just dont have a lot of room . Also consider changing out oil pump screen and oil pump if engine has alot of miles .
