Oil in a HD Premium Oil Cooler -Part # 26155-07

When doing a oil change, how much extra oil do you add to a 2008 Ultra Classic with a oil cooler or does the dirty oil in the oil cooler ever drain out?

No, it never drains out during an oil change due to it being lower than the adapter and the thermostat being closed during the oil change.

There is not enough in there to worry about during an oil change. What there is gets filtered when up to temp. I have had no problem on mine and the oil looks new for quite some time after the oil change.

Guntoter is right that there isn't enough in the cooler to worry about. I use 3.75 qts. in my '07 with filter and it shows full when hot.

There is so little oil in the cooler core you would not have to think about it. Ask me how I know--

Aw, OK I'll tell you. I overfilled my sump after installing a cooler thinking it would hold about 1/3 qt.--silly me....

Hey you know those turkey baster suction thingies with a bulb on the end? They work very well for sucking oil back out through the fill hole......
